Technical vacuum used in industrial applications as well as in research and development covers a wide range of pressures. The span from ambiant conditions down to ultra high vacuum comprises more than 13 decades of pressure, thus a ratio of 1:10 000 000 000 000. Neither a single vacuum pump nor a single vacuum gauge can cover such a large range. adixen therefore offers a broad spectrum of vacuum gauges to select the best solution for each application.
Within the first decades below atmosphere, pressure can be measured easily according to its definition: by the force exerted on a known surface. adixen offers the mechanical gauges to access this range, their reading is independant of the type of gas inside the vacuum system.
For lower pressures forces become too small to be measured at a reasonable price. Gas properties such as thermal conductivity and ionization can serve for indirect pressure measurement. Digital electronics facilitate the indirect method and the adixen range of active gauges offer easy to use vacuum measurement from atmospheric pressure down to ultra high vaccum.
